Portraits 2. Here is a diesel locomotive portrait of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9315, a GS-4M switcher built by General Electric in March of 1949, rated at 380 horsepower, and retired in September of 1966 after just 17 years of revenue service. Eclipsed by the new-fangled "diesel" is one of the Pennsy's "J" Class (2-10-4) "Texas" steam locomotives. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. (#25 of 30)
